Three things every startup entrepreneur needs to know

Rami Essaid, co-founder and president of Distil Networks and HATCH 2012 first place winner, has a history of successful start-ups and offers his advice to future start-ups:

1.         Take every opportunity.  Don’t leave any opportunities on the table because you don’t know which one thing could do it.  HATCH pitch ended up introducing us to our lead VC for our last000-598 round; you never know what one thing happens to make you successful.  Anything that would come our way, we would take it.

2.         Practice the pitch.  Be able to clearly articulate what you are doing.  Develop an elevator pitch that is no more than 10 – 20 seconds, more than that and it is too complex.   Do not put messaging and verbiage on the back burner; practice the pitch, demo the pitch, practice it to the point that it’s burned into you.

3.         It’s glamorous (not really).  This is the most common misconception about being an entrepreneur that I see.   It’s not glamorous.  People who see me in the Wall Street Journal, in the news, raising money – it looks glamorous – but it is a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, it’s not nearly as 1Y0-309 glamorous as you might think.
